Web Design, Custom Content Management System (CMS)

Cedar Falls Utilites (CFU) is a community-owned utility that provides water, electricity, natural gas, high-speed Internet and cable television services to the residents of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Home Page as a Hub

Everyday thousands of users go to the CFU website to access their webmail. CFU wanted to get as much content on the home page as possible to capitalize on this web traffic. Spinutech worked with CFU to create a homepage that is compact, clean and has a lot of information.

Channel Guide

As a cable provider, CFU was in need of displaying their channels online. Spinutech developed an interactive channel guide that allows people to choose a package and see the channels that come in the package.

Custom Forms

The University of Northern Iowa is located in Cedar Falls. Every semester thousands of students move. When students as well as residents move, they may need to start, stop or transfer a CFU service. To help streamline this process, Spinutech worked with CFU to develop a multi-page form for each. Results are stored in Spinternet for retrieval by CFU.

Content Management System (CMS)

CFU has the ability to update news, banners, photos, and content through Spinutech's content management system called Spinternet.

Mobile Website

Spinutech created a mobile website that is scaled-down and optimized for smart phones. Auto-detection was setup to direct mobile devices to the mobile version. To help communicate power outage to residents, CFU posts outages on the mobile version.
