Spinutech Partners with UNI to Support the Next Generation of Business Students
Published by Spinutech on November 22, 2019
Community involvement is a foundational pillar of Spinuech’s core company values. We strive to make a difference in any way we can. That includes giving back to the school that prepared one-third of the members of our team — including our three founders — for success by helping to prepare the next generation of business students for real-world careers in digital marketing.
Founded by three alumni of the University of Northern Iowa, Spinutech headed back to college to partner with UNI’s department of marketing to host the inaugural Digital Marketing Forum on Thursday, Oct. 24. Student attendees heard from business and community leaders who were willing to impart wisdom from their experiences working in the digital marketing industry.
Spinutech donated $30,000 to help make the event possible. We were even able to invite a couple of our friends from Google — account executive Matt Gaither and principal analyst Nima Oftadeh — to share their insights about the impact of data analytics.
“This was an amazing opportunity for all involved,” says Marc Reifenrath, co-founder and president of Spinutech. “The digital environment is constantly changing and is a hot topic for students. We are excited to have been a big part of making this happen.”
Reifenrath and co-founders Adam Lewis and Cory Schmidt were all students at UNI when they started Spinutech, which first operated out of their Cedar Falls apartment. Reifenrath cites the education and support they received from UNI as integral to their success in launching a business.
“The community really embraced us and encouraged us to keep chasing our dreams.”
This is not the first, nor the last, collaboration between Spinutech and UNI.
We partnered with UNI in 2018 as a supporting sponsor of the Digital Media Emphasis in the department of marketing and continue to provide digital marketing education to business students through the College’s Professional Readiness Program® (PRP).
Spinutech also provides career opportunities to UNI alumni, especially in the Cedar Valley. The company employs 24 former Panthers as digital strategists, web designers, and web developers.
