Wellness

Supporting each team member as a whole and not just in their role.

Taking Care of Our Team Members

People are not machines. Their health and well-being aren’t things that can be tucked away in a desk drawer before they log into their computer every morning for work. The state of our team members’ physical and mental health impacts them both inside and outside of the workplace.

As a company that champions “We Get Better Every Day” as one of our core values, we believe we have a responsibility to promote wellness in the workplace and provide our team members with the tools and resources they need to make self-care a priority.

This is why we launched a wellness program to promote a variety of health-related activities and challenges, with incentives and rewards for those who go above and beyond.

Promoting Wellness in the Workplace

The wellness program was first developed by Spinutech’s Team Member Support department based on feedback from team members who expressed an interest in activities and resources that would support their physical, mental, and social well-being.

Once the program was launched, team members were provided access to counseling services, biometric screenings, health coaching, and other wellness-related resources. Spinutech also partners with Employee & Family Resources (EFR), a non-profit organization, to host a wellness webinar each quarter on topics ranging from nutrition to mindfulness. Each new quarter provides team members with a stepping stone to experiencing different avenues of wellness, from reducing stress with a massage to eating healthier through a meal kit service trial.

Empowering Team Members to Chart Their Own Path

Team members are also invited to participate in wellness-related activities every month, including brain breaks, Meditation Mondays, a Zumba class, and more. Quarterly challenges like “Spinutrek” -- during which team members are divided into teams to see who can collectively tally the most steps in a month -- tap into the competitive nature of some of our team members.

Group wellness activities serve as a source of motivation and accountability, but they also provide team members with a means of filling their cups through social interactions.

Team members can log all of their activities in an online portal that helps track their progress toward receiving a gift card or a wellness-related reimbursement. The points system is structured to reflect the reality that wellness means something different to everyone, allowing each team member to chart a wellness journey that is unique to them and fits their lifestyle.
