Facebook Hoax

Facebook is charging to keep your information private? Not so fast!

By Brian Allen on September 29, 2015 in Digital Marketing

These days hoaxes and false information can spread faster than a teenager's texting fingers. If you have logged into Facebook over the last few days you've probably seen one of the latest gotchas; that Facebook would start charging $5.99 to set your profile as ‘private’. To set the record straight, this is false and Facebook has confirmed this on their official page.

This is, however, a good opportunity to remind everyone that you can make your Facebook profile more private… for FREE! Facebook has assured users that this will always be the case.

Here's some quick instructions on how to keep your information private

  1. When logged into Facebook, click on the downward pointing arrow in the top right corner of the screen and select the ‘Settings’ option.
  2. Then click on the ‘Privacy’ tab.
  3. Simply select who can see your profile and how much they can see.
  4. That's it! Now you can relax and get back to commenting on your friend's kid or cat picture (You know you do it! ).
