Creative Resource Manager

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Project Management or VP of Web Services, the Creative Resource Manager will fulfill an important, multi-functional role and be accountable for the following areas of the business:

ERP Tool Management & Administration of Resourcing Processes

The Creative Resource Manager will act as the ERP system administrator; this will require definition and enforcement of procedures, mapping of processes as well as management of ongoing system needs company wide. This role will also serve as the organization's authorized support contact, responsible for opening technical support tickets with the tool support team if troubleshooting is needed.

Onboarding / Training for ERP

As the system administrator for the ERP, this role is accountable for all training and enablement necessary to ensure the organization's end users are set up for success within the tool. You will create and maintain supporting training materials or documentation that educate team members on how to apply a process and operate efficiently within the tool.

Resource Management & Allocation [1] 

As new projects and clients are onboarded, you will work closely with the Web Services Management Team to define and assign an appropriate project delivery team. You will be responsible for resource planning and allocation, assigning team members to projects and ad hoc requests based on their skills, previous experience, availability, or project timeline. You will operate on the company-level and will be responsible for allocating appropriate resources to multiple projects being executed simultaneously. An ideal candidate will be someone who can accurately assess resource needs and provide sufficient capacity to realize projects' goals.

Cross-Teaming with Project Management & Other Web Services Department Leads

You will take a lead role in defining and enforcing ERP tool processes, and will collaborate on resource management needs, best practices and process with internal departments and company stakeholders. You will be accountable for supporting project managers in ongoing resource management efforts by assisting to reallocate resources, adjust timing or assign new team members to a task or project.

Allocation & Utilization Reporting

In addition to resource planning and allocation, you will also report on allocations and utilization, or billable time, to the Web Services Management and Senior Leadership teams. The information this role is accountable for providing will play a critical role in capacity planning for support of existing projects and delivery teams, as well as forecasting for new sales and new team hires.

Education & Experience Requirements:

5+ years of experience in resource management in a similar industry

Working knowledge of website design and development processes and team dynamics

Previous experience with ERP or project management platforms; ideal candidate will have familiarity with Workfront (comparable platforms acceptable)

Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities

Exceptional interpersonal skills (including verbal and written communication) and ability to establish credibility with executive leadership, and delivery team members at all levels

Strong experience and comfort level with agile methodologies

Exceptional negotiation, communication, change management and compromise skills

Motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and drive efficiency though processes definition and enforcement

Comfortable operating in an evolving environment with changing priorities

Strong work ethic and self-motivated with ability to take ownership, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently (including remote work)

Experience with assigning available staff to projects based on skills and experience

Proven ability to assist project and account managers with ongoing resource management and related support

Previous experience with monitoring employee utilization, managing workload, and regularly communicating changes in scheduling to multiple teams within an organization

Comfort and experience with mitigating resource concerns by reallocating resources, negotiating timelines and working collaboratively with resourced team members and project managers alike
