Senior Director of Paid Media & Social

Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Senior Director of Paid Media & Social to join our growing agency team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the digital media department, providing strategic leadership, team development, and hands-on expertise across Paid Search, Paid Social, Organic Social, Programmatic, Display, and AI-powered advertising solutions. You will be accountable for department performance, client satisfaction, and driving innovation in how we deliver measurable results for our clients across the full media and social ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of digital media experience within an agency environment, including leading paid media and social (both paid and organic) strategies, managing and developing high-performing teams, and leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, performance, and targeting. This is a client-facing leadership role that requires strong strategic vision, cross-channel integration, and the ability to roll up your sleeves to support the team when needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the digital media department, including Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic Display, Video, Native, and Direct-Buy advertising.
  • Actively manage and optimize high-value media accounts, including onboarding new clients and providing senior-level strategic direction.
  • Lead cross-channel campaign strategy integrating Paid Search and Social for maximum impact on client goals.
  • Drive adoption of AI and automation tools (NinjaCat, and other tools) (e.g., predictive bidding, audience segmentation, creative generation, and performance forecasting) to improve campaign efficiency and scalability.
  • Establish and maintain scalable processes for media planning, buying, execution, and reporting that support data-driven decision-making and repeatable success, that aligns with our client’s goals.
  • Forecast market changes in Paid Media and Social, ensuring the team remains competitive and innovative in its approach.
  • Responsible for media department goals including utilization, profitability, staff redundancy, and skills competency.
  • Collaborate with account teams and department directors to ensure alignment in strategy, delivery quality, and budget management.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth within the media team.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring strategies and results are aligned with client objectives.
  • Partner with the business development team in pitches, proposals, and new business opportunities.



 

Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of paid media experience, with demonstrated leadership across paid media and the full social ecosystem (paid and organic).
  • Proven track record of scaling and leading teams of 10+ members.
  • Strong understanding of how Paid Media and Social fit within an integrated digital marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in building AI-enhanced advertising strategies, including automation, audience targeting, and performance analysis.
  • Experience developing media strategies from the ground up, including accurate pricing and resource planning.
  • Ability to identify and act on cross-sell and upsell opportunities in partnership with account teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex strategies to audiences with varying levels of marketing expertise.
  • History of cultivating high-performing teams and fostering a culture of trust, inclusion, and innovation.
